Peebles choir, InChorus took part in the Eden Festival, near Moffat, on Sunday. Performing on the main stage there, the choir showcased for the first time the repertoire it has prepared for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August.
An extremely appreciative audience listened intently as the choir sang. At the end of the concert Musical Director, Aly Skidmore, congratulated the listeners on being so attentive. “That’s because you’re a great choir,” called one slightly inebriated man, “And I mean it!”.
This is not the first time that InChorus has sung at an outdoor festival, but it is the first time in the Scottish Borders. “We sing all over Scotland,” said Choir Manager, Lorna Turnbull, “ But we like especially to sing and share our kind of music here in the Borders.”.
On Saturday evening the choir performed with the Edinburgh Concert Band at Greyfriars Kirk in Edinburgh. “The two events this weekend were poles apart,” said Lorna, “But both were thoroughly enjoyable.”.
InChorus will perform at the Fringe on 24th, 27th and 29th August at the Emerald Theatre in Nicolson Square, Venue 209. Tickets are available from Greenside @ Nicolson Square, and from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Office.
